Academia Montis Regalis
The Academia Montis Regalis's orchestra has become a professional activity thanks to the numerous concerts and the flourishing discography since 1994.
It has been conducting by the most important international specialists in the field of ancient music: Ton Koopman, Jordi Savall, Christopher Hogwood, Reinhardt Goebel, Monica Huggett, Lucy van Dael, Luigi Mangiocavallo, Enrico Gatti, Chiara Banchini, Alessandro De Marchi, who has been the main conductor for the latest years.
Today the orchestra is ever more in demand and performs in notable concert series and festivals in Italy and abroad. They have appeared at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, the Musica e Poesia a San Maurizio in Milan, the Amici della Musica in Perugia, Florence and Padua, the Giovine Orchestra Genovese in Genoa, the Settembre Musica in Turin, the Istituzione Universitaria dei Concerti in Rome, the Théâtre de l'Opera in Lille (France), the Théâtre Municipal in Lausanne (Switzerland), the Théâtre Poissy and the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris (France).
The Academia has been collaborating with the Teatro Regio in Turin for the past few years. Their Saint John’s Passion of J.S. Bach, performed at the Teatro Regio, was enthusiastically acclaimed in March of 2001. With the Choir of the Teatro Regio the Academia has embarked on a long-term project to perform the most significant of the Bach Cantatas in the concert series of the Unione Musicale in Turin.
The orchestra will be presenting several 18th century operas in some of the most important opera theatres in Europe over the next few seasons: the Teatro Regio in Turin, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, the Théâtre de La Monnaie in Bruxelles (Belgium), the Halle Staatsoper (Germany).
Simultaneously, they are contributing to the festival L’Altro Suono of the Unione Musicale in Turin which is dedicated to 17th and 18th century music.

Thanks to the collaboration with the Istituto per i Beni Musicali in Piemonte the orchestra has begun an important recording project with the French company Opus 111 (now Naïve/Opus 111) since 1995. They have recorded ten CDs which are international hits.
The orchestra is now recording a lot of Vivaldi’s hand-written scores which are kept in the Biblioteca Nazionale in Turin. The first CD of this special Vivaldi Edition contains the Oratorio Juditha Triumphans which has been earning success all over the world. The following three CDs contain the concerts for flute and strings, the Mottetti for soloist voice and strings and the theatrical opera Orlando Finto Pazzo.
